The following letter, written by U.S. Marine Joshua Boston and headlined “No ma’am.,” was posted in the CNN iReport on Dec. 27 with the included note from the producer and photo. It has struck a nerve with many and is being circulated around social media venues like Twitter and Facebook.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

And, no, I don’t mind having my face shown on my driver’s license. I think it’s good….
And I’m proud that ‘God’ is written on my money..

I think if you are too stupid to know how a ballot works, I don’t want you deciding who
should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years.

I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me
into making ‘donations’ to their cause….Get a job and do your part to support yourself and
your family!

I believe that it doesn’t take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents….

Today, President Obama sent out a campaign email essentially blaming his supporters if he loses. See, he’s supposedly being outspent. And because he’s supposedly being outspent, he’s losing. And he can’t spend more money unless his supporters fork it over.

This is the campaign version of Obama’s entire economic argument: he can’t fix the economy unless he spends more money. And unless we give him more money, he can’t spend it. So if the economy fails, it’s our fault.

Here’s the perverse logic:

Last week, when I was in Iowa, voters told me they were feeling it. The numbers back it up: Our side is getting outspent 2-to-1 on the air there.

But the folks asking me about this don’t want an explanation — they want to know what I’m going to do about it.

And the fact is that solving this problem is up to you ….

We’re losing this air war right now.

I don’t have as much time to campaign this time as I did in 2008, so this whole thing is riding on you making it happen.

Perhaps the most laughable aspect of this latest desperate missive is Obama’s assertion that he doesn’t have “as much time to campaign this time as I did in 2008.” He’s done nothing but campaign since the beginning of the year. From January to mid-June, Obama held more than 160 fundraisers. During that same period in 2004, President George W. Bush had held just 79 fundraisers.

Here’s the sad fact for Obama: nobody’s enamored with him anymore. His spendthrift ways haven’t just bankrupted the country – they’ve bankrupted his campaign. And he still blames everyone else.

One of the women in the Obama campaign’s new video of Republicans supporting the president because of GOP positions on women’s rights appears not to be a Republican at all.

Maria Ciano who is featured in the web video has been a registered Democrat since October 2006 according to voter registration records.

“People like me and my family have realized that the Republican Party once was inline with our views, but are no longer,” the Colorado resident says in the video.

The video is one component of a larger Obama campaign push on women in light of the recent controversy surrounding Todd Akin.

I came face-to-face with Big Brother the other day, and it was a frightening experience.

He actually presented himself in the deceptive form of a young, attractive female officer, working for the Transportation Security Administration at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

(Passengers stand in line to go through security checks at Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Our columnist shares his experience wieth the TSA.)

At first she simply seemed chatty and friendly. She looked at my airline boarding pass and noted that I was coming from Denver. Then she mentioned that I was headed from Detroit to Grand Rapids.

“That’s a pretty short flight,” she said.

“Talk to my travel agent,” I grumbled.

At that point she asked me what my business would be in Grand Rapids.

“I’m headed home,” I replied.

Then she wanted to know where home was. That’s when the mental alarms went off and I realized I was being interrogated by Big Brother in drag.

I asked her why the federal government needed to know where I was going and what I would be doing. She explained that the questions were part of a new security “pilot program.”

I then told her I am an American citizen, traveling within my own country, and I wasn’t breaking any laws. That’s all the federal government needed to know, and I wasn’t going to share any more.

Not because I had anything to hide. It was because we live in a free country where innocent people are supposedly protected from unwarranted government intrusion and harassment.

At that point the agent yelled out, “We have another refusal.” One of my bags was seized and I was momentarily detained and given a hand-swab, which I believe was to test for residue from bomb-making materials.

I passed the bomb test and was told I could move on, but I hung around a moment and told everyone within listening range what I thought about this terrifying experience.

So, this is what we’ve come to. The federal government now has a need to know where citizens are going and what they are doing before they are allowed to peacefully pass. I’m starting to wonder what separates us from Russia or Cuba.

Of course, I went home, got on the computer and learned more about this “pilot program.” I discovered that it’s been going on for a few years now at selected airports around the nation.

TSA officers, being the brilliant people they are, are given the responsibility of picking out airline passengers “whose facial expressions, body language or other behavior indicate a security risk.” They are then subjected to a “chat down,” where officers interrogate you and decide if you are indeed a terrorist.

Hmmm. So what did I do to make them label me a security risk?

Well, it was 9:30 in the morning, and I was just coming from a three-day music festival in the Colorado mountains, so I probably looked pretty groggy as I stood in the half-hour line to reach the TSA security checkpoint.

Perhaps it was my odd facial expressions. For the past few weeks I’ve been suffering from a condition called “Bell’s palsy,” which includes temporary paralysis of all the muscles on one side of my face. I can’t smile, and the condition makes me look even grumpier than usual.

I suppose the government figures that grumpy looking people with droopy faces are potential terrorists. God help any stroke victims who try to travel. If they suffer from paralysis beyond their face they may be detained and questioned for weeks.

This program is a bizarre and outlandish violation of the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which is supposed to protect us from “unreasonable search and seizure” by agents of the government, unless they have probable cause. I doubt any judge would have considered my droopy face as sufficient cause for harassment.

I lived through 9/11 and I understand the need for tight security at airports. I put up with the ritual of taking off my shoes and belt and standing in a machine that shows TSA agents physical details that are really none of their business.

The idea is to keep dangerous materials that could be used in a terrorist attack off commercial airliners. Fair enough. But stopping people because they look sort of funny to security agents, and probing into their personal business, is going too far.

What’s next? Check lanes on city streets, where jackbooted thugs from Washington, D.C., will stop everyone every morning to ask them where they’re going and what they’re up to? And if our answers are not what the government wants to hear, perhaps we’ll be sent home and put under surveillance, to make sure we’re not involved in anything that Big Brother doesn’t approve of.

Our freedom is severely compromised when government is allowed to do this sort of thing. We are supposed to be presumed innocent and able to come and go as we please, as long as we don’t break any laws or give authorities reason to believe we may have.

The “chat down” program has been a failure, by the way, at least according to a recent editorial published in USA Today. TSA officials interviewed about 725,000 travelers at Logan International Airport in Boston over the course of one year, and none of them turned out to be terrorists. A small percentage were arrested on outstanding warrants for other crimes, but that’s not the purpose of the

To make matters worse, some TSA agents have told civil rights attorneys that they were instructed to target minority passengers at airports, to increase the odds of finding criminals and build justification for the program.

There is no justification for this type of unwarranted harassment in America. Even people who look a little different should be allowed to move about as they please, unless they give authorities a specific reason to stop them.

I urge everyone who cares about freedom to call their elected representatives and tell them the TSA “chat down” program goes way too far and should be iced, before any more innocent citizens are subjected to humiliating and unconstitutional interrogations.

Iraq Vet Arrested on Felony Terrorist Charges After Jogging With Toy Gun

An Army National Guardsman and Iraq war veteran found himself in jail, charged with “committing a terroristic act and wearing body armor while committing a felony offense” after he was arrested while jogging and holding an air-soft gun.

William Everett Alemar was taken into custody after police in Martinsburg, W.Va. responded to multiple calls at 7 a.m. on Aug. 20 about a man running down the road near a school in army fatigues and a protective vest, clutching what looked like an assault rifle, The Herald Mail reports.

Shortly after, three officers reportedly pulled their weapons and ordered Alemar to the ground and took the rifle from his hands.

Police soon found out that the rifle was merely an air-soft “training” AR-15 rifle that anyone can buy at their local sporting goods store. The Herald Mail reports the gun also had the “red tip” that indicates it was a toy gun. However, police also found two knives, a number of empty rifle magazines and ceramic plates in his vest.

Alemar is currently being held on $50,000 bail for the designated “terrorist act,” the paper reports.

Police say the veteran’s actions caused the community to view him as an immediate threat.

“My son is not a terrorist, he’s a good kid,” Alemar’s dad told reporters. He said his son was trying to stay in shape for his next military assignment.

Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney Pamela Games-Neely told The Herald Mail Thursday that Alemar was actually drunk, registering a .213 blood-alcohol reading. The legal limit for motorists in West Virginia is .08 percent.

While there is certainly an argument to be made that running with anything that resembles a rifle and also carrying knives and empty magazines — especially when intoxicated — is unintelligent, there will surely be some debate over whether his actions warranted being charged with a felony and labeled a “terrorist.”

President‘s Brother Is ’Ashamed‘ of the Name ’Obama’

In an exclusive interview with the Blaze, author Dinesh D’souza (”Obama’s America: Unmaking The American Dream”) spoke about the shame felt by The President’s impoverished relatives and how hypocritical the tense situation is for the left.

D‘souza made national attention this summer for bringing the plight of the president’s brother to light. George Obama lives in a tiny shack in a Nairobi slum and gets by on just a few dollars a month. The author, who has recently paid George’s hospital bills, talked to TheBlaze about the experience.

D’souza juxtaposes the abject poverty and condition of a number of Obama’s direct relatives, including his aunt that sells coal on the street in Kenya, with Obama’s life. And it’s humiliating.

In fact, George “does not even use the name Obama,” the author alarmingly notes. George said to him, “I’m ashamed, because the moment people find out my name they want to know ‘Well aren’t you related to Barrack Obama? How come you are living in the slum?’ And of course there is no answer.”

George Obama had to watch his half-brother become the most powerful man in the world from a rusty seat in a slum shanty bar. The contrast D’souza emphasizes, is very hypocritical. The author notes that Obama continually presses “fair share” as policy and regularly campaigns with the line, “I am my brother’s keeper.”

“There is something wrong with this picture,” D’souza insists. Why? Because “it exposes the fundamental disingenuousness and hypocrisy of Obama’s platform.”

Still, D’souza is quick to point out that George is not “innocent.” He notes the president’s brother is “shifty” and “cunning,“ adding that George is ”all about the money.” But he also calls him a “smart kid” that’s “a little bit of a conservative.”

According to ABC News, D’souzas film 2016, which is the first film to feature George Obama, is on pace to be one of the highest-grossing political documentaries in history. The film has a nationwide release starting today. Check local listings.

St. John, Indiana (CNN) — With just his dream, determination and hard work, Bill Keith started a solar fan business nearly a decade ago out of his garage in northwest Indiana. The one-time roofer simply wanted to make enough money to care for his family and to create a ripple effect for other workers, particularly in this economically depressed area outside Chicago.

Keith vowed to create his solar attic fans entirely out of parts made in the United States.

Using only the sun’s energy, the fan pumps hot air out of the attic — lowering cooling bills — and doesn’t have to be in direct sunlight to work. His first year, Keith said he barely made enough to scrape by — about $39,000 in sales.

“It wasn’t enough to cover expenses,” Keith recalled.

But he stuck with it and his promise to buy American parts. Keith’s company, SunRise Solar, steadily grew to the point that he couldn’t keep up with the influx of orders. He looked around for companies that could help him manufacture the fans, concentrating his search in his own backyard. He eventually found a company that could help and needed the extra work about 90 miles away in Warsaw, Indiana.

He bought molded plastic in Indiana as well as fasteners, nuts, bolts and steel. Wire for the fans came from workers in New Jersey, while the motors were from Pennsylvania and Chicago. Even his cardboard boxes were manufactured in nearby South Bend.

Keith had achieved his own small part of the American dream: He became a self-made small-business owner. And in 2008, his success attracted the attention of the soon-to-be next president of the United States, Barack Obama. That year, he got an unexpected call from a representative of the new administration.

“He said he was with the Obama transition team looking for small companies,” Keith recalled. He later met with the man who told Keith, “we want to interview you, vet you.”

“Guy sat right there talking with me, said ‘I really love your story and I’m going to push it up the rank,’” Keith said.

And that’s exactly what happened. Shortly after he was inaugurated, Obama held a town hall meeting in the economically devastated city of Elkhart, Indiana. Keith and his wife were asked to come and — prodded by his wife — he stood up and told the president about his solar business. He asked Obama what he planned to do to encourage small business owners like himself.

The question turned Keith into a White House solar superstar. ABC, CNBC and other media came calling to tell the story of the roofer who built a solar company out of his garage — and he did so without a government handout.

“Move over Joe the Plumber,” one blog headline declared after his Elkhart appearance. “There’s a new poster child for hard-working Americans — and he’s green.”

Keith’s success story provided good publicity for the White House which called again and again, using Keith to underscore the Obama administration’s goal of pushing America towards new sources of clean energy.

“‘Can you come to Washington? Can you come to Philly? Biden doing this,’” Keith said of the numerous requests he received from the administration.

There’s the photo of him with the president and Vice President Joe Biden in Kokomo, another Indiana city hard hit by the recession, as well as an appearance with Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio and many others.

Keith’s story resonated with groups of all political stripes. Republicans got in on the act when Indiana Sen. Richard Lugar named him “an energy patriot” and the GOP-leaning U.S. Chamber of Commerce cited his work. Environmentalists also contacted him, and featured him in one appearance after another.

Strange bedfellows, perhaps, but it was a feelgood story of what one American could do in a time when the recession was strangling so many.

“They were continually inviting me to these things called ‘advocacy days’ where they wanted me to meet with senators and congressmen,” Keith said, noting that he attended many with his wife.

At these events, lawmakers talked about “how I created a solar product, how it’s good for the environment, for business,” he said.

“(I) won’t say they were putting words in my mouth but they had a lot of talking points,” Keith said. “I was happy to do it from that point of view. It is friendly to the environment; it is creating jobs.”

It also was good advertising for Keith, who could never have afforded the publicity these appearances offered. Orders for the fans, which retail at about $500, came pouring in from places as far away as Hawaii.

“It grew to where our peak was $2 million (in revenues),” he said, referring to sales in 2009.

SunRise Solar started exporting fans all over the world. While his home-based business employs only about 21 direct and indirect employees, it brought a much-needed economic boost to an area of the country hard hit by the recession.

Today, Keith’s solar star appears to be on a collision course with another Obama policy that may put him out of business. The irony is not lost on Keith: A man whose profile and company soared because of the administration’s energy policy is now falling apart because of a new Obama anti-dumping policy involving China.

While 95 percent of Keith’s fans are American-made, he has yet to find a U.S. company that can make the small customized solar panels that make his fans run. It’s not that he hasn’t tried. He initially used a company in Michigan but they stopped manufacturing the kind of panels he needed. Then Keith turned to a New York company but the quality was so bad that he was replacing the defective parts faster than he could sell the fans.

Over the years he begged environmental groups as well as the Commerce Department for help in finding an American company that could make the key solar component. Reluctantly, he agreed to purchase them from a major company in the United States, which bought their panels from another country and then had them customized in Hong Kong. Eventually that manufacturer told Keith to deal with the Hong Kong customizer directly.

Keith said the U.S. Customs Department has accused him of using Chinese-made solar panels, in violation of a tough import policy adopted in May at the behest of major U.S. solar companies. The policy is intended to thwart China from undercutting prices and flooding the U.S. market with cheaper solar panels. The U.S. Department of Commerce is currently reviewing the policy, and is scheduled to make a determination in the fall.

Keith denies that any of part of his solar fans are produced in China, but he admits he can’t totally prove it. According to Keith, the owner of the Hong Kong company that customizes his solar cells has stated in an affadavit that it buys the cells from the United States, Taiwan and Germany. But Keith worries that testimony won’t be good enough.

“The solar panel tariff is a broad-reaching tariff. In my estimation it shouldn’t be geared toward small niche markets like mine,” Keith said.

Unless he can show specific manufacturing documentation by August 29, Keith said he could be fined as much as 250 percent on his solar panels — an effective rate of $270,000.

If that anti-dumping fine is levied, Keith said he will have to shutter his business.

“These guys are going to put me out of business,” Keith said. “I don’t have any help. I’ve been trying to get help, no one can help me.”

Keith said he has never received government financial assistance and is taxed in the 40 percent bracket. He said he has sat by and watched companies like the now bankrupt Solyndra run through taxpayers’ money and not return on the government’s investment.

He said he doesn’t want a handout — just a helping hand. So he went back to the well one more time, pleading with Greg Nelson, deputy director of the White House Office of Public Engagement who Keith said had been his contact with the Obama administration.

Under the subject line his e-mail to Nelson, Keith wrote, “Hanging on for life here.”

“Can you help me before I have to close my doors and let everyone go?” Keith asked in the e-mail. “Please … I’m pleading with you.”

Nelson responded, “Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I don’t know what is possible, but let me talk to a few folks asap. Will circle back soon.”

That was nearly a month ago and Keith is still waiting. CNN sent three e-mails to the White House asking about Keith’s situation, and received a reply from a spokesman late Wednesday afternoon. The spokesman stated that the tariff “highlights the degree to which solar panel manufacturers have faced unfair competition from countries like China” and the president’s move to impose a tax on Chinese-made goods is a way to establish “a level playing field with China for American businesses and workers.” The reply did not address Keith’s situation.

“When Obama came in office, there were a lot of small business owners who said, ‘Hey maybe he’ll help break barriers and help owners’ or he says he will, but it never trickles down that far to help us,” Keith said. “Maybe it’s because we don’t have big budgets to donate to campaigns. I don’t know. I’m just trying to run my company.”
